Quote: Enjoy life!
- What is your greatest life achievement?
Going self-employed! I’m 22 years old I don’t yet have a house and children. But I hope one day I do. I believed in myself I could take the next step in my career and I did. Fingers crossed in years to come I can say my greatest achievement will be having a house to call my own and children to love and care for.
2. What’s my favourite part of hairdressing?
My absolute favourite part of hairdressing is making people feel amazing. Having your hair done makes you feel so much better about yourself, and I love that I’m the one that makes people feel good by having great hair.
3. What do you like about working at Victoria Hutchinson & Co?
We are like a little team, it’s such good fun working there. We all get on so well, we all contribute in different ways to the team. (I’m the fun outgoing one, who makes the best coffees). All our skills put together make our little salon a great place to work.
4. What are values that drive you?
As school used to say, strive to attain. I value my self-worth and my capability, I always keep that in my head when I’m having a down day. I work hard so everything I have i know I’ve worked hard for.
5. What do you hate the most about your hair?
FRIZZ!!!!! My hair goes super frizzy if I leave it. It takes a lot of keeping at bay, with the right products I can stop myself from looking like Hagrid.
6. What do you love the most about your hair?
Apart from frizz I love my hair. It’s thick, long and in good condition. I put plenty of treatments on to keep it healthy. (It can be a lot to wash, but you can’t have it all.)
7. What’s your most embarrassing moment?
I have far too many to choose from, a lot aren’t PG.
Myself and my boyfriend were in good old TKMax. I went to hold his hand; I thought it was my boyfriend’s hand I was holding. It turns out it wasn’t!!! It was a stranger with his girlfriend stood at the other side of him. I soon found my own boyfriend and left the shop.
8. Why and how did you get into hairdressing?
I’ve always loved doing hair; I was always the little girl who would pester you until you let me do your hair. I love making people’s hair look great. In year 10 and 11 at Lady Manners a few students were able to do level 1 hairdressing at college. I jumped at the chance, since then I’ve always been in salons. As soon as any of my clients come into the salon, I make them feel at ease. I’m a people person so hairdressing is the perfect job for me.
9. Who inspires you?
Guy Tang, I could watch his hair videos all day!!! I use some of his hair colours, they are amazing and come out beautiful.
Other hairdressers also inspire me; they inspire me to be the best hairdresser I can be.
10. What’s your secret talent no one knows about?
There are just too many to choose from……
11. What is your hairdressing style?
I’m more of a medium / long hair kind of hairdresser. I love doing colours and cuts, with beautiful styling to complete the finished looked. Ideally smooth waves, but a textured look is just as nice with the right cut.
12. Your top 3 favourite podcasts/ books?
To be honest I don’t read very often, maybe I ought to more. I’ll read on holiday but that’s about it.
I struggle to sleep so I find a calming / relaxing podcast helps me unwind and get a better night sleep.
