Favourite quote: Today is not just another day, it’s a new opportunity, another chance, another beginning to change your life.
- What is your greatest life achievement?
Starting my own company & brand. Building my own website and learning how to run every single part of my business myself from the ground up.
2. What is your favourite part of hairdressing?
Styling hair is my absolute favourite part of hairdressing. It was very close between styling and extensions but given that I had to choose it will always be styling hair as my number one. Every style I create is unique to my clients hair colour, texture, personality, face shape.. Everything! It keeps it free and challenging – I just love it.
3. What do you like about working at Victoria Hutchinson & CO?
I love working at Victoria Hutchinson & CO because of the team of people who surround me. It’s like working with your best friends daily, who support you, laugh with you and are there for you.
The salon was born from social media which is why we have grown so quickly in such a short amount of time. Having an online platform to advertise and attract our ideal clientele allows us as stylists to embrace our individual style and niche and not just rely on passing trade or people from our surrounding town and villages. This means we aren’t the same, we each have our own ways of working which is exactly what I wanted to achieve.
4. What are the values that drive you?
Business is something I’ve always wanted to do and that is all the drive I need. Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.
5. What do you hate most about your hair?
My hair has always been straight and flat which doesn’t suit my face shape at all. Having a slim, oval face definitely requires width and volume which of course im lacking – So, a special thanks to hair rollers and my backcombing brush.
6. What do you love most about your hair?
My hair is naturally glossy and I actually love my natural colour. I am a very low maintenance hairdresser!
7. What is your most embarrassing moment?
I embarrass myself daily!
8. Why and how did you get into hairdressing?
After completing my foundation degree in art & design I needed to decide on a career path which led me into hairdressing.. Thanks dad, who planted the seed and that was it!
9. Who inspires you?
The most influential person who has inspired me for as long as I can remember is my mum. She is my biggest supporter and always there to slow down my crazy ideas and forever over thinking mind.
10. What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
Not really a talent but I have the most amazing memory. I can remember even the smallest irrelevant details of things, people, situations.
11. What is your hairdressing style?
I am conservative, a lover of natural hair – kind of stylist. Give me sunkissed, baby fine highlights or a glossy brunette anyday. Im all about healthy hair, changing tone and choosing a colour, style which will compliment your face and skin tone.
12. Your top 3 favourite Podcasts/Books?
The E-myth revisited, The 5am club, Profit first.
